The overarching values in Math grade 8 that shape the curriculum and are central to healthy development include

1.higher levels of positive attitudes and behaviours towards Mathematics that are associated with higher grade and test scores.

2.emphasis of social responsibility as the learners acquire co-operative skills and techniques of collecting,representing and interpreting data amongst themselves and others  externally in the collaborative learning process .

3.promotion of equality and social justice and inclusiveness as they practice restrain ,discipline and respect for each others work irrespective of gender inclination, thus leading to great competence and increased conflict resolution skills.

4.promotion of integrity as they develop techniques of investigation,better logical/critical thinking skills,analysing situations and  making rational decisions which culminate in better problem-solving strategies

5.improved ability to honestly apply the knowledge of spatial concepts with utmost care, and the ability to use them in thinking and acting appropriately.

6.develop awareness and appreciation of the role of technology in national development by embracing technology.
