Facilitator’s online presence is very important and therefore in the above discussion the following strategies of making sure that there was online presence throughout the course were brought up during the discussion on 15th November 2012 led by the able facilitator Andrew Moore who posed the topic of the discussion:

  1. The facilitator can make comments at times as discussion continues, this usually motivates participants.
  2. The facilitator can also follow up participants that have not participated individually through emails, calling or using the various social platforms which usually reflects to moodle.
  3. The facilitator can give feedback to quizzes and assignments as soon as possible to ensure online presence.
  4. Group emails and news forums can be used for communication to participants on the course and announcements.
  5. Time for meeting and chats should be clearly fixed as the facilitator does his/her duty to remind the participants.
  6. The facilitator can prepare an audio to communicate to students and upload it and they hear from the facilitator. A video can also be used.
