Theme C - ICT CFT Competency
The Kenyan ICT CFT Course is directly aligned to the UNESCO ICT Competency Framework for Teachers (CFT). This theme for example has been designed so that participants can master the following competency drawn directly from UNESCO framework:
"Teaching is student-centred in this approach and the teacher's role is to provide direct instruction in consciously skilled ways and to structure problem tasks, guide student understanding, and support student collaborative projects. In this role teachers must have the skills to help students create implement, and monitor project plans and solutions. In addition teachers need to use assessment for learning as a basic principle guiding their practice" (p.26)

- Theme C - Timeframes
Theme C - Timeframes
Theme C, its content and activities, will be available throughout the 14 week KICTCFT course for you to access, interact and revise. We recommend that you spend a minimum of 14 hours study time on this theme. Please note, however, the facilitators will only be on duty for the following periods:
Unit 4: Monday 19th September to Sunday 25th September 2016
Unit 5: Monday 26th September to Sunday 2nd October 2016
Unit 6: Monday 3rd October to Sunday 9th October 2016The course is self paced but here are the dates when online facilitators will be on duty to support you. If you arrive to do any of these units outside the facilitation 'window' there will be no one to give you guidance, however, you are welcome to learn at your own pace.

Theme C - Assessment Strategy
Throughout the course you will be required to construct a portfolio of evidence. For Theme C there are three portfolio tasks, one from unit 4 another from unit 5 and a third from unit 6. The portfolio tool can be accessed from the top right hand block in each unit.
In the final examination there will also be questions drawn from the content of this theme.
