Welcome all to Unit 10 which is about Community Communications. It will be facilitated from Monday 28th March, 2016 to Sunday 3rd April, 2016. We will explore more about the tools that we can use when communicating. Technology nowadays is the key medium of communication and it is dynamic in nature. This therefore means that we need to keep abreast with it so as to be effective and efficient in our communication by using the various technological tools that are at our disposal. To keep at par with what is happening around us, you are expected to go through the course materials and participate actively in all forums. You are also expected to do and submit all Portfolio assignments within the time given to give the facilitators ample time to grade them and upload your marks. Remember there is a criteria which will be used to mark your portfolio assignments and it will be a prudent idea to go through it before doing your assignment. The forums in this unit are: 1. Discussion forum on “How best parents' voice would be effectively heard in your school” 2. Discussion forum on “How social media can be used to enhance community communication at your school” 3. Discussion forum on “areas where you think a FB page might enhance community communications at your school” and 4. Portfolio assignment on “School Community Communication Implementation Plan” We welcome you to the unit once again.

Best regards.

Joseph & Aggrey.
